Lil' Punt Fishing Charter

Tour Description:

We have half and full day charters available, and we welcome all novice and amateurs fishers. Departure and fishing locations vary on the half day or full-day charter, so keep in mind that a full day charters will allow more time to get to the prime fishing locations. The charter will start with live bait catching (fun for the young ones) and on any given day you could experience encounters with many species such as Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Javelin (commonly known as Grunter), Bream, Trevally, Queen Fish, Queensland Groper, Estuary Cod, Salmon, Flathead as well as others. Most of these fish are targeted in the closed season for Barramundi which runs annually from November through February.

Vessel Details:

The Lil' Punt is a 4.6m Super Barra Punt in survey and carries 4 guests with ease. All seating is padded and is situated up the middle of the boat. For the fly fishermen and luring there is also an elevated front casting deck.

We also carry a 140 litre esky on board which holds enough for drinks, lunch as well as some take-home rewards from our day fishing.
Powered by 60 Horsepower Yamaha Four Stroke engine
Electronics are a Garmin 125 ultra (Side Scan, Sonar ,GPS and livesscope system) enabling us to get into the shallows with dependable stability.
The vessel is also fitted with a 55lb thrust electric motor to enable us almost silent movement, excellent for sight fishing barra with lures and fly.

Other Information:

You will need to bring your own lunch and drinks, large brimmed hat, light long sleeved shirt, sun screen, insect repellent.
Fly Fishers most welcome, however you will need to bring your own rods and tackle
Important Information: Fairdinkum Fishing crews practise catch and release for most fish, however they will allow you to keep some fish as a tasty reminder of the rewards from a day on the water in the estuaries of North Queensland.
If you have a favourite fishing rod and reel it is most welcome on board.
Lure and Fly Fishers may bring their Tackle Box on board if you wish.

** Lures and Plastic Jiggings are supplied on a replace if lost or broken basis - you are most welcome to bring your own.
